The 48-year-old was with his girlfriend and his 12-year-old son at his Swartley Road home in Hilltown on Jan. 18, 2013, when they became the victims of a brutal home invasion, said District Attorney Matthew Weintraub.

At about 10 a.m., witnesses saw two armed men enter the home. Investigators say the culprits tied up all three victims before ransacking the home — stealing guns, cash, jewelry, and other valuables.

Canazaro's girlfriend and son managed to escape their captors, flee the home, and call 911. But when first responders arrived on the scene, the burglars were gone and Joseph Canazaro was found dead in the family garage.

The 48-year-old's killers reportedly took off in Canazaro's truck and drove to the Quakertown Plaza shopping center. There, security cameras recorded the pair load the stolen goods into a red Nissan Altima, model years 2004 to 2008.

They fled the parking lot and have not been since in the 10 years since.

DA Weintraub said the case is still officially open and that Bucks County detectives are still accepting investigative leads. To submit a tip, call 215-348-6354 or visit the Bucks County Crime Watch webpage
